Checker APP:

Power Apps checker app is for Makers, you can conduct app reviews more efficiently thanks to a customizable checklist of best practices, a 360 view of your app through app checker results, app settings and a free search code/formula viewer.

App Checker Results:

The app checker screen shows the results from the app checker result run for the app when it was last published. These results are available in the Power Apps studio as your build your app but they are included in this tool for convenience. A quick glance at the app checker result will often show serious issues with the app such as inefficient loading or delegation issues.

App Analysis:

The app analysis section allows us to quickly check if certain important app setting flags are on. The flags have an impact on performance. The screen info section gives us a quick count of the number of controls used for each screen to ensure that it is below the recommended max of 300 control per screen. The media files sections list all medias embedded with the app as well as their size. Finally, the network trace section helps identify slow network requests within the app.

Code Viewer:

The code viewer section lists all screens, controls and properties with a search and filter function allowing you to quickly find formulas within your app. You can search by control name, property or simply by any text that can be present in power apps formula.

You can link formulas to a particular pattern by selecting the “+” button.  This is useful when providing feedback to the app developer as they can where exactly in code certain best practices were not followed.

Expanding the data source icon will present a list of all data sources and collection used in the app. Selecting a source in the list will show all the reference across all the control’s properties in all screens.

Solution Assessment:

This App is for makers which can be used to ask users a series of questions regarding the target audience, data and support of the solution they’re planning and informing them about governance, support and license considerations a maker needs to keep in mind before starting the development of their solution.

Power Platform Licenses Details:

This app is for Admins.

Power Platform licenses refer to the various licensing options available for Microsoft’s Power Platform, which includes Power Apps, Power Automate (formerly Flow), and Power Virtual Agents. These licenses are designed to provide different levels of access and functionality based on user needs. Admins can view their Licensing details with their services also they can view other Power Platform licensed user licensing details as shown in Image.

Environment Request, Environment Request Admin App and DLP Editor & Impact Analysis :

Problem statement:

When a development project requires a new Environment, and non-admins are restricted from creating Environments, the only way for non-admins to access new Environments is for admins to provision the Environment and grant permissions to users. Admins can become the bottleneck of development if volume of demand for environments is high because multiple steps are involved. New environments may also require new connectors or DLP policies.

Solution:

With this process can be used by non-admins to request new environments and changes to DLP policies for their environments.

Makers (non-admins) can:

  • Submit requests for new environments.
  • Submit requests for DLP policies to be applied to their environments.

Admins can:

  • Provision new environments for developers using the app.
  • See how new environments will be affected by data loss prevention policies.
  • Approve or reject DLP policy requests.

“App Compliance Centre”, “Power Platform Admin View”, “App Catalog” and “Governance Tool Setup -Compliance Process”:

Problem statement:

There are many apps in our tenant. IT doesn’t know what all these apps are intended for or how to support individual apps when the helpdesk is called, and it’s unclear whether all the apps are being maintained to any standard.

Especially in a large organization, it’s not feasible for the IT team to be responsible for manually reaching out to each app owner individually, and those details can’t be stored in email conversations. The team would like to have a central app catalogue for high-quality apps.

Solution:

The governance tool checks app compliance in the tenant. Non-compliant apps trigger weekly emails to the owner with a link to the App Compliance Center. Here, owners can submit business justifications and adjust app settings. Once compliant, admins review the app and decide on its catalog inclusion. This process aids makers in risk assessment and reduces admin burdens by automating detail requests and quarantining non-compliant apps.
